Thanks to new technology, today it's possible to produce broadcast quality movies, commercials,
training videos for DVD and Streaming Video
distribution for as little as
$500 per finished minute.

What is the digital video revolution? It's more than just a move from analog-based production to digital-based architecture. As techno-logical developments continue to emerge, and as the price of powerful production tools continues to drop, the real revolution is the empowerment of the "little guy," the independent producer.
For whatever reason, the viewing public prefers film to video. And that’s why the new video 24p digital format is generating so much excitement. The revolutionary aspect of this new format is that video shot in 24P looks like it was shot on film. Fact is, when we screen HD (High Definition) video shot in 24p, the digital look-alike and the film original look very much alike.
I’ve chosen to work with the new Panasonic HVX200, because no camera in recent memory has generated so much buzz. It’s one of the first cameras to offer True HD 24 frame per second video (24p), which allows DV shooters like me to work on feature films, network shows, and other high-end dramatic presentations at one-third of the cost of  traditional formats. Few cameras hold the promise to transform the
way we work as much as the
HVX200.
When I started in video production in 1981, linear (tape-to-tape) editing was the only way to edit taped programming. It was time consuming and allowed no room for error. Then, in the 1990s, non-linear editing programs, designed for desktop computers, became available and opened a whole new world of editing power and flexibility.  I especially like working with NLE because it is based on film editing techniques that I was taught back in the day.
My former edit and post production suite, loaded with $250,000 of hardware, is now thankfully a thing of the past. These days I can produce the same result (possibly better) on my laptop PC.
Thanks to Sony’s new Vegas 8.0 pro software, our team now has immediate access to alll of the resources of a full service post production facility, right in our office or on our laptop. Vegas is perfect for A/V production, multitrack recording, compositing, titling, scoring and finishing in nearly any format.
